Am I right in assuming that Founders and Goddard are very different freshmen residence halls? If so, then can you elaborate on the differences? What kind of student/person would thrive in Founders, as opposed to Goddard? How do things like location/size/dining/AC/community differ?

(Also, I already know about the wiki page. But I want some experience/observation from you CCers, too!)

Neither hall has a dining hall. Both halls have AC.

Founders is away from campus, a few avenues away. Google the address and put it on Google Maps to compare.

Goddard is an APPLICATION ONLY dorm because it has the “streams”. Honestly, the residential hall website will explain everything you need to know about the Goddard application process.

We’re the Residential College, sort of like explorations but with a lot more events and a very tight community. The streams are like themes for explorations, but you do a lot more with them. They’re focused on a certain topic or genre, and depending on which stream you’re in you take your WTE class in the building (four of the streams have WTE professors with offices in the building and they are also the faculty affiliate for those streams).

I’m the VP of the board that oversees the Residential College, which encompasses both Goddard (freshman dorm) and Broome Street (upperclassmen). If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
