First i live in virginia. That being said i got accepted into four colleges

Rutgers (newark and camden) (NJ)
Randolph-macon college (VA) ($10,500 scholarship -- yearly)
VCU - Virginia commonwealth university (VA)
Shenandoah University (VA)

I hear a lot of good things abotu rutgers but is it the best for a pre-med/bio major? Which school do you think is the best for this track? Also, is it possible to go to the new bruinswick campus even though i wasn't accepted there?

I would rather go to Rutgers Newark because Camden is that nice of a place. You should go to Rutgers Newark and do good in school for the first semester and try to transfer. Rutgers New Brunswick is getting pretty hard to get nowadays.

Neither is really good location wise but jimgotkp is right, camden is much worse than the newark campus.

Rutgers has a greater reputation the farther you go from NJ so just telling you that here, it is considered a party school. Most of the first and second year courses are very large, but as you get more specialized they become smaller. I took the physics course intended for premed students there last summer and it was very good. I have no clue about the Newark campus but the New Brunswick one is very good for pre-med. There are a lot of opportunities for internships (that I know of) with the hospital that has basically bought out all of New Brunswick except the downtown restaurants.

If you didn't get accepted into the New Brunswick branch I am pretty sure you can't go there. You will have to go to Newark and transfer. However, they have rolling admission so I think you can still apply to New Brunswick.

I lived in a small dorm at RMC years ago. Three of us on our hallway are now profs at fairly well ranked (higher than RMC) LACs. Another is a very successful Lawyer, another a Dentist, and so on down the line. There is no comparison. And when we went, the college was in bad financial shape. It's now much better. It's quiet and you have to create your own community, but I suspect that this is why we have done so well. Surprisingly, not many have heard of RMC, its graduates have done well.
Good question to ask of some of the colleges that you are comparing it against. Did they even put anyone in med school last year? If so, do you have to graduate with a perfect GPA? Harsh question; but that's reality.

Rutgers is an great school with an excellent reputation. However, Newark and Camden aren't exactly the nicest cities in the world. Try to get in touch with admissions to see if you can go to the New Brunswick campus. It is definitely the best of the three.
