Looking through forums, it sounds like English R1A/B or Rhetoric R1A/B are hard courses. Would it be recommended to NOT take English while I'm in FPF (or do you have to take english while you're in FPF?) and try to get into an easier R&C class at Berkeley in the spring? If I do have to take english, which one would be better to take? I'm a prospective Haas student.

English R1B with Hollis is a great class if she’s teaching it again.

The teachers aren’t listed yet. I found out that English is required and I will have to take “A” since I didn’t take any AP English to pass the first half of R&C requirement.

Oh. The teacher for Rhetoric 1A is Borst-Rothe, K. No idea about the ones for English R1A though.

I would take English at FPF no matter what. With the new system, you have to be done with R/C before your junior year anyway. On top of that, FPF classes are limited. Now if you’re looking for a Math 1A teacher, get Bourgoin.
