FPF Housing

I am an incoming FPF student and have some questions about how FPF students are put into dorms.

The regular fall students already received housing offers and we have not even applied yet, do we only get what is left over from the fall students? If not, how does it work? I know that this is the first year FPF students are guaranteed housing, so maybe it is different from previous years?

Also, I am trying to figure out strategically what would be the best to put down for my top 4 housing choices (with any room any size any location being the 5th). Out of the units, which location and dorms are the most likely to get (so I can put it as a backup as a 4th option)?

It’s cool, I guess I didn’t want any answers anyways… :(

Most of the people I knew in FPF were in triples in one of the units, though I also knew some in Clark Kerr and Foothill (not sure what rooms they had). There were also a few people in doubles in the units, but most of them requested their roommates. If location is more important that room size you might want to request a triple since doubles are in higher demand and are likely to be already gone.

I thought doubles would definitely be higher demand, but are there less triples than doubles (meaning that even though there may be more demand for doubles, there may be more supply for that demand). I was thinking of putting double in unit 1 as my first choice then triple in unit 1, 2, 3 as my next 3 choices.

Thanks.

Wait a second, I’m also an FPF student and I definitely already filled out a housing app. What do you mean you haven’t applied yet?

It’s not due until June 7 and it’s a lottery system so it doesn’t matter when you turn it in.

My floor had 7 doubles and 6 triples, totaling 14 spots in a double and 18 spots in a triple, so while there may physically be more rooms that are doubles, I still think there are more spots in triples than doubles.

Alright, thanks.
