Franklin Street?

I've heard that Franklin Street is a big playground for UNC students.

What is there to do there that is so fun?

Playground in a weird, hyper-maturity kind-of way. It’s a street running on the north border of campus filled with plenty of restaurants, shops, clubs (I think. I went but never kept an eye for any) and the like. I suppose the “fun” is the group aspect. I saw huge groups of kids everywhere when I was there. Also, the stores and restaurants get really packed during game time and everybody seems to be hanging out the door watching the game on the TVs.

But yeah, sorry that’s kinda all over the place, but it’s the best I got.

Oh, and if you follow it down, I believe it takes you into Carrboro as well. There may be, at times, events and things held along the street. Not too sure much else.

It gets like this during Final Four time:

Right now Franklin st is full of drunk and flirting UNC students. It’s great!

Sounds awesome. By students, you must mean attractive girls right?

Ahaaaaa. Wow.

Well as we discussed in the other thread, almost 2/3 of them are girls, and a reasonable number of them are attractive :P

So you caught on…:D.

I think that point alone is enough to make it fun, unless the OP is a female. :p

I can assure you, OP, that there is more to Franklin Street than just the girls, so you’ll enjoy it regardless of what sex you are.

Though might I add, I don’t find the guys all that attractive, but perhaps that’s simply because I’m biased. Sadly, I don’t think I can say the same for my boyfriend. sigh

Psh, whatever.

You know you like 'dem Chapel Hill bois. That’s why I couldn’t even keep you away!

Heh. (:

What an odd discussion.

Franklin is fun just because it’s hoppin’. It’s where you walk down when you’re going somewhere else, so you bump into people. It also has food that’s open till 3:00 AM, and Yopo (the yogurt pump) is cheap and a hang out place when it’s warm. People just get their yopo and chill outside and catch up.

^ i got pizza at gumby’s at 3:40 this weekend after a party, sadly they only serve large’s at that time but i convinced myself it was worth it…soon after i ate **** on the pavement and destroyed it

Yeah, the hours of Gumby’s are a bit variable… as is the service. They forgot about my order once so I just walked over and they literally handed me dollars out of the till to make up for it. Odd. But so so good.

I agree, gumby’s can be great late at night. But the staff can be really incompetent.

And everytime I’ve been there at night, there’s always been a crying girl.

^ LOL…I wonder why. Maybe her boyfriend discovered the advantage of the inbalance.

…Ok, I really need to let that go. :D
