Hey,
I was just never 100% clear on what greek life actually encompassed. i know you usually live in the house, eat there, throw parties, and some random stuff like community service, but am i missing some stuff?

also, at a typical state school where you live in the house (like UNC of UF) what about is the cost of joining per year? Of course you won't be paying for a dorm.. so I guess the question really is how much more is it as compared to not joining?

Well, I would say it is just making really strong bonds with your fellow brothers. Ya you will go on retreats, live together, do community service, and get wasted on weekends, but its about getting a network for your future and friends for life as well.

As far as the costs, it depends on each fraternity and what you want. I would say some are more expensive based on bigger house, nicer retreats, more charity, having a cook, etc. You would have to look at each individual house in that respect, but overall I would say its comparable if not cheaper sometimes to live at the house.
