Fraterneties

Hi i am going to be a first year student at FSU next year. I would just like to know if any of you know any info on the fraternities of Alpha Epsilon Pie or Tau Epsilon Pie

First off, a) why do you want to pledge and b) what are you looking for in a frat? Animal house-type partying, well-rounded academics and social life, community involvement, what?

FSU has the following social frats:

Alpha Epsilon Pi

Chi Phi

Delta Tau Delta

Kappa Alpha

Kappa Sigma

Lambda Chi Alpha

Phi Delta Theta

Phi Gamma Delta

Phi Kappa Psi

Phi Kappa Tau

Phi Sigma Kappa

Pi Kappa Alpha

Pi Lambda Phi

Sigma Chi

Sigma Nu

Sigma Pi

Tau Epsilon Phi

Tau Kappa Epsilon

Theta Chi

Here is the website about GREEK life: http://greeklife.fsu.edu/

They also have some professional fraternities too.

One of my best friends was an A E Pi at FSU, he was one of the founding members of the FSU chapter. The frat was obviously really small at the time, but from what he tells me it has grown in the last few years. I think they recently moved into a house on campus, the old Tri-Sig house. The thing with any fraternity, is that you have to visit each one during rush week and decide from there. You really won't know which one you like best until you personally meet the current members and take a tour of the house.

by any chance do you know how he liked it and if they are any big on campus?

In my experience, most kids in frats and sororities that make it past the pledge period tend to stay associated. Like everyone else, kids need a connection with new friends at college. The Greek system is one way to do that.

If you're interested, participate during Rush and see which one fits. You have to like them and they have to like you. Some are more socially active and productive than others.

I am pretty sure that AEPi is "the Jewish frat" on campus. I know of three guys who attend FSU (two are sophomores, one's a junior). They are all Jewish and they all are AEPi.

^Correct. The religious unions at FSU are very strong as well. Many kids participate in these organizations instead of social frats and sororities.

Here's a list of the religious organizations: http://www.campusministries.fsu.edu/

Here's a entry page to the Greek system: http://greeklife.fsu.edu/

Thanks for the memo. I am looking to rush AEPI being Jewish myself, hopefully all will turn out well.
