Im transferring to UCSD this fall and was wondering if it's common for a junior standing to rush for a frat? Are there any advantages or disadvantages?

I've been told that the social scene isn't too great at UCSD, and that it's what you make of it, but compared to not joining a frat what suggestions/advice do you have for having fun?

A little about me I'm outgoing, enjoy meeting new people/socializing, I go partying and clubbing, I'm adventurous and willing to try new things. I'm not a drinker and I don't smoke.
I'll probably be bringing my car down there (I'm from nor cal).

Do you guys have any suggestions for frats on campus or the typical stereotype for each frat? Any to avoid?

I read something regarding hazing on another thread, what's the deal with that at ucsd?

For those of you who are part of a frat do you feel like you can balance out the school load and fraternity responsibilities?

I'd appreciate any answers/experiences
