Fraternity Choices

I was wondering if I could get some information from some Greek members about fraternities at Uof M. Also any information on the rush/pledge process specific to a fraternity.

Go to google and search greek frats. Theres an extensive website about each frat, the size, what they represent. Some frats like PIKE and SAE are huge and others have like 20-30 brothers. I personally am joining one with like 60. However, be careful. Alot of frat brothers tend to have lower grades so my advice would be to take the first semester off (most parties you can get into first semester) so you can see if you can balance school and second semester you will not only konw where you stand but you can also see which frats your friends are in and which frats fit you best.

if you search greek life at the u of m website you can find info about different houses and get contact information for their president or rush chair.

also, before i rushed i was concerned about grades but found that my grades and friends of mine in other houses grades were actually better during pledging (and i did pledge first semester) it kept me focused and i did much better than i would have

I believe the 3 largest houses are AEPi, PIKE, and Phi Psi. All with about 120/130 overall.

Each frat is different and has it's own qualities.

additionally, the avergage greek gpa is just as high if not higher that the average gpa for all of UM each semester.

here's info on the average gpa for each house..

Also interesting to note that the top 2 fraternities on campus for gpa are both jewish.

It looks like the average Greek GPA is driven up by the sororities. Just an observation.

top 3...psi u is over 75% jewish
