Fraternity Rush

Okay, so is it weight if I rush a fraternity in the spring of my junior year? Would maybe a "lower-tier" (hate that term) fraternity take me? I've enjoyed my time here thus far, but not joining a fraternity is something I've really come to regret...

bump anyone?

If you rush, you might get a bid. If you don’t rush, you will not get a bid. If it doesn’t work out, oh well. You at least tried something new.

Well, I guess I meant to say… is it weird to rush this late in the game? Would my “big” be younger than me and all that? I am curious about it, and really want to rush this spring, but I don’t want it to be an awkward experience

The Big thing will be up to the Fraternity that will/might choose you. The age thing will come down to how you feel about the possibility of someone younger than you could be your mentor/superior. Also, Do you feel like you can easily get along with the 18yo freshman you’ll be in your pledge class if you get a bid? If you feel like you’re okay with both of these questions, then it is likely to not be an awkward experience. I know its common in SEC schools that most people rush freshman year, but upperclass students do rush and successfully get bids. You’ll most likely be asked what you think you can add/bring to the brotherhood with the amount of time you have left. Make sure to have an answered prepared incase they do ask you that (Keep it straight to the point, not droning on and on).
