I just found out from a friend that you need to maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 to stay in a sorority at IU. Unfortunately following her final exams, she learned that the hard way. I was just curious to know if that same principle applies to the fraternities at IU as well. I am a bit worried now because like pretty much everyone else, my final exam grades tend to be pretty awful. I can just see myself next year slipping up once and instantly getting kicked out.

Fraternities are 2.5, there may be a couple that are higher than that.

It varies house-to-house. I know that in mine, you get put on social probation if you dip below a 3.0 and if it gets under a 2.6 then you have member review. Fraternities are generally lower and not as strict about it. Good grades are ESSENTIAL for sorority rush though, I have lots of friends who did not get asked back to houses because of grades.
