Fraternity?

Are any of you transferring currently in a fraternity? If so how did they take it that you wanted to transfer out? Are you planning on staying in the same fraternity after you transfer but in the new university's chapter?

Wow man...this describes me perfectly...but I'm in an even worse position. I just rushed this semester and am getting initiated this friday. I even have my housing arrangements done for next year...I'm going to have a lot of difficult decisions to make when I get my transfer acceptances.

I think that if you are on good terms with your brothers, and let them know that it's the school and not the fraternity you're unhappy with, I think they'd understand. If you are transferring for academic reasons I'm sure they'll understand, and if they're good brothers they'll support your decision. In my position my brothers constantly complain about the school and how bad it is, so they might not be too surprised.

As far as joining a chapter at a new university, none of the schools I appplied to have a kdr chapter, so that's not an option for me. I have heard of people that have transferred and joined a chapter at their new school (I think LCA transfers at GWU even started a new LCA chapter there). Who knows if you'll have to go through pledge again though...

Damn I wish I waited to pledge next semester....

Im a Delta CHi at Hofstra in NY. I was a founding father here. We are currently up to 26 Brothers 3 are graduating and I am possibly leaving to go to USC. My brothers are upset that I'm leaving but they know that it's for a good reason and understand that. I am going to be in Delta Chi at USC if I am accepted. I visited and met the brothers already and they were very welcoming.

Same here im currently a PIKE at Wayne State University, and if i get accepted at UMich i will be joining their chapter. Usually a letter from your current pres will get you in no problem and the brothers should be welcoming, if not rush PKA!
