fraternitys

Ok I would to know everyone's opinions on fraternities in college. I have not made a lot of friends so far (i'm a transfer junior that has a solid core of around 5-6 friends that I knew from my last school) so i'm thinking that joining a fraternity would be a good idea to make friends. Another part of my problem is that 1 fraternity has shown interest in me but they are one of the tougher frats on pledging and i've heard they treat pledges very badly (even though this is expected with most local frats). Another frat is not so popular (national) but I've heard there pledging process is the easiest on campus so would it be a good idea to try to join this frat if I feel like I could be good friends with the members (after meeting them at a rush party which I haven't done yet). Any advice on pledging? I'm taking 4 classes so this semester isn't extremely stressful for me.

be prepared for the naked mile

Whether to pledge or not is really a personal thing. If you like the guys, have the time, and the lifestyle appeals to you then go for it. Personally, I decided that I want to wait a year before pledging so that I can get my feet on the ground. Just ask the guys directly about the pledging process if you’re worried. Some frats don’t haze, and others get really into it. These are important things to know before you pledge.
good luck
