Frats...Anyone Else Looking To Do One?

I am very interested in the Greek system at UW if i attend (frats). I took a tour of 2 last week and loved one of them. Anyone else interested? what have you heard about the greek system?

I am considering doing it, but I want to live in the dorms for a couple quarters or so just to get a feel for the school and get used to the college life before I end up joining a frat and drinking every night.

I just want to make sure I got my head on straight before I start drinking too much and start skipping too many classes haha

that makes sense..Have you made a decision about which dorms?

I put in my housing app, but I'm goign to edit it after I visit, but heres what I've heard thus far due to research. At first I really wanted to do McCarty or at least one of the north campus ones because it was closer to the central campus, closer to the village, and closer to the greek houses where I can party.

However, after researching a lot, I've heard that Lander/Terry are the rowdiest and funnest dorms when it comes to partying especially for freshman. And I heard McCarty is really mainly open to only upperclassmen that aren't trying to meet people as most freshman are. So as of now, I'm going Lander, Terry, and than McCarty.

But than again I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to UW yet. I've got to decide if I want to go to UCSD which has that 4 year plan for Computer Science laid out for me already; or if I want to go to UW where I have to apply into my major with no guarantee of getting in...

kinda the same thing i am from the seattle area and went to the greek page and said i was interested in more information and yesterday i got calls from four frats trying to get me to go check out the house. . .i think i am going to wait till my sophmore year though

im not even sure if i am goin to uw yet...but i got into business school and honors and there is some pretty nice business rooming...but i donno if it wud be hella nerdy or not...
i wanna join a frat, but i also kinda wanna live in the dorms for at least a semester...not exactly sure wut im gonna do.

I'm the same, I want to live in a sorority after doing the whole dorm experience thing. But from what I've seen you move in right off the bat as a freshman. I want to join at the same time as the other freshman so I'm not a late comer, but I also don't want to just skip the dorms. Anyone have any advice?
