to medical: the lambdas (a.k.a. Lambda Phi Epsilon) are not allowed to have a pledge class for this year (check the Cornell hazing website for more info). Another asian interest frat is called Pi Delta Psi, who actually have a house on North campus next to Tri-Delt.

also, we should be considerate of nicknames because a lot of people have similar nicknames. For example, when you say "lambdas" you could be referring to Lambda Phi Epsilon, the asian interest frat, or Lambda Theta Phi, the latino frat. Or when you say kappa, you could be referring to a plethora of frat or sorority including kappa phi lambda, the asian interest sorority, or kappa alpha psi, the black frat.

they are if they say this : Asian: Lambdas.

as for blacks, all 9 NPHC orgs are here, however, several are not on campus:
frats:
Alpha Phi Alpha - inactive until 2008 at least
Omega Psi Phi - active (only one member at Ithaca College)
Kappa Alpha Psi - recently reinstated Fall 2006
Phi Beta Sigma - active
Iota Phi Theta - active

They don't catch the majority of (and worst of) cornell pledging. That accounts for about 1% of the total hazing that goes on spring semester every year.

it probably wasn't FIJI because they're not really known to play golf and be elitist like the frat in that story. It was probably either Alpha Del, ATO, Chi Psi, or Sig Nu. They're all near the bridge and near SAE.

I doubt it's Alpha Delt, my good friend's boyfriend is in there and told us a great deal about what he had do to during pledging. It wasn't that bad. Then again, my conception of "that bad" might differ from someone else's.

It's obviously Alpha Delt since the fake name is Alpha Gamma Phi and Alpha Delt's full name is Alpha Delta Phi. He also says that the frat was better known as Alpha Gam.

In Zwecker's paper, he quoted the November 11th, 2002 Cornell Daily Sun article about an incident involving a student in the "Alpha Gam" frat surviving a fall into the gorge.
[quote]
When asked to describe Danny shortly after he was discovered in the gorges, Alpha Gam president Mick Manos said, "He is extremely smart with great grades, an engineer, and a member of Mensa [a society for people with high IQ]." (Cornell Daily Sun, Nov.11, 2002)

That same quote (of course the names are different) can be found in the Cornell Daily Sun archives of November 10th, 2002 and the fraternity named in the article was Phi Gamma Delta (is that Fiji?) You can look it up if you want. I chose not to attach the link out of respect to the victim. I hope you will have have the same consideration.

I don't think it should affect your choices about joining Fiji this year though. It was a long time ago, none of the brothers involved are there anymore, and I'm sure their National headquarters and Cornell are watching them very carefully.

the only thing i heard about them is that they are really rich, but like old money not arrogant like sig pi rich, and alot of smokers and cokeheads. the guys pretty nice and their house is effing gorgeous
