i'm gonna be a freshman in a matter of weeks now and I'm considering joining a frat at penn. couple questions though: how much commitment is required by most penn fraternities? will i be giving up all my time to them? also, do most students live in the houses all 4 years or just 1? how does that work... and finally, when is rushing? thanks in advance/

Rushing for freshman is supposed to be during the Spring Semester, towards the beginning in January, though some frats have done secret freshman October rushes.

I don’t believe any freshman live in Frat houses for freshman year…it also depends on how much room the house has and other factors like that.

No freshman can live in a fraternity house freshman year, per Penn restrictions. As for whether you have time for other things, yes you do! Plenty of people do plenty of other things in addition to their Greek organizations.
