Isn’t Purdue really fratty? Yeah, Colgate is supposed to be really preppy and fratty. Boston College and Holy Cross: zero frats, but a lot Catholic-fratty types (prep clothes, but not old money, and not WASPy snobbish…though the NY/NJ/Conn/PA lace curtain Irish can be as pretentious as anybody).

Does anybody know what the scene is like at Birmingham-Southern?

Birmingham-Southern got number 1 biggest greek system on a list I saw, so I assume its extremely preppy and southern

Colgate looks kinda lame to me..

Is there even a town around it?

Dartmouth is extremely fratty, 48% of guys join a frat and 40% of girls join a sorority. I mean, what else is there to do around Hanover other than drink lol.

For Jonas: old new england preppy can be found at most NESCAC schools, but there are not really any schools where the MAJORITY of students are like this. There aren’t even many boarding schools left where the majority of students come from this background. However there is a noticeable presence of old-school New England preps at Williams, Colby, Trinity(CT)…

and for whoever asked: Muffy, Biff, Buffy etc. are preppy nicknames. I have several friends called either Chip, Trip, or Kip to denote Jr, III, IV.
