I'm a HS sophomore, and i know some people may say "its too soon to think about college" well i dont care.. i just wanna know the opinions that some of you have about my top school choices so far. I live in GA so obviously UGA is #1. My second choice is Clemson, and my 3rd 4th and 5th choices in order are UL (University of Louisville) , UCLA, and Texas A&M. I'm hoping to be an engineering major. HELP

“I live in GA so obviously UGA is #1. … I’m hoping to be an engineering major.”

I would move this to the engineering forum but since you asked.

IMO Georgia Tech should be your #1 not UGA…

Why does living in GA make UGA your #1? Because it’s closer or tuition is lower? You’ve always been a fan? Just visit the schools so you know which ones feel right.

I go to Clemson and the engineering program definitely dominates the other programs here, but it’s also really strong in the other sciences. It’s beautiful, the atmosphere is so great, and gameday is unreal. It’s a big school but it’s really close-knit. You have the option to apply to live in a residence hall full of other engineers, which includes tutoring and other resources to help you succeed. Any specific questions?

I second the post from Lindy. Georgia Tech is the best choice for engineering!

This thread should not be on the class of 20xx Community forum. That said, living in Georgia tends to make UGA and Tech #1 for affordability. Tech is of course a top engineering school nationally, so it is a natural first choice. On the other hand, UGA is building up an engineering program also.
