So, about an hour ago I took the last practice test of PR's SAT Biology Review and scored terribly; my score went down significantly from the last practice test I took this morning. After going outside to cool some steam (I ended up throwing the PR book on the floor after grading my test), I figured that something must have been wrong with the practice test. I must admit, however, that I haven't had a biology course in over a year (my school doesn't offer any AP science courses; the best we have in biology is the honors version) and I have been self-studying the material for the past month. I feel confident about the material I learned (except maybe some parts of human anatomy which are pretty memorizing intensive), but PR's Practice Test 2 just tripped me up on lab questions. There were at least 5 or 6 sets of lab questions! Please reassure me and tell that my test on Saturday morning is going to actually test biology and not labs I should have done in an AP Bio class!!!! [/end frustrating rant]

Although I’ve heard people say PR’s tests are somewhat accurate, I think that they are totally off. I am taking bio on saturday, and when I first started to think about it I took two diagnostic tests, one from the official book and one from PR. PR=480, official score=650. Don’t trust them for bio…though I generally like PR.

I actually had a similar experience to yours. My score for the second test was significantly lower than my first. I do think the second test was actually harder. So hope that helps.

Finally, I can agree completely with your situation. I am taking Biology on Saturday as well and I was about to scream and burn my PR book when I saw my second practice test score. On the 1st practice test, I received a 730. My score went down to a 680. Then, I took the “official” biology exam from the CB Book and got a 760. I am now prepping crazily but I’ll assure you that the second test is very very hard. Princeton Review makes its tests purposely harder so just relax. My friend took it when he was getting 600s on the PR tests, and he got a 720 on the real thing [this was in April].

Ooh, the same thing happened to me on 2007-2008 PR. I got, like, an 800 on the first practice test, and I didn’t even bother estimating my scaled score on the second since I missed so many more. I’m glad we’re all going through the same thing. :)

Thank you guys so much for reassuring me! I was going through the whole “omg I might as well go to community college” last night after the last PR practice test. Over dramatic, I know.
