Freaking out over College Applications and Fee Waivers.

OK, so this is what happened. I submitted 6 college applications through CommonApp on 12/22 and didn’t have to pay for them because I requested a fee waiver, so I was able to submit the application. In the middle of January, I get an email from a college saying that I still need to submit my application fee waiver. I go on CommonApp, to make sure that I requested it, and I see that my counselor has yet to download the application fee waiver.

The next day, I go to see her and she said she never received it. At my school, the counselors use Naviance. Do they everything on Naviance. For example, when I requested my transcript, she got a notification and sent them. She sees that it was requested on CommonApp, but doesn’t know what the problem is since it didn’t appear on Naviance.

She gives me like 6 applications fee waivers to send. Should I send them through the mail or online? I send the colleges the application fee waivers through email because I thought it would already late. Or should I send it via mail? Will my applications be considered late since my app fee waivers had yet to be submitted or will they be kind enought to wait for the fee waiver?

send them scans with a note of explanation. They’re not there to ding you – they’re glad you applied. Calm down – it’ll work out.

Photocopy one and send one of the vouchers to the school that requested it.
Naviance will NOT request, it’ll just be listed in a column, your GC has to actually click on “submit”.
