Freaking out over Physics--should i take the test?

ok, so now is where i'm relllleeee getting worried. I'm in physics b right now and signed up for the ap test, but am thinking of maybe getting a refund from my school and dropping the test if i act quickly.

Im taking 4 other APs this year (econs, world, eng), and am taking Physics C Mechanics next year. If I'm taking physics c next year and going to take the ap test, then is this physics b exam just totally going to be a waste of $86 ??

im going to have to self study some for physics b since were not going to make it through all the material before the test, and i dont want to spend extra time covering info on my own in preparation for a test that may potentially not even matter when i could be devoting myself to studying for my other aps.

should i just quite now before i get too deep into trouble and get a refund, or take the test?
p.s. i want to go into Mechanical Engineering in college so, considering that also, and im just lost on what is best to do. thanks for helping me through my mid-junior-year crisis.

i am not sure, it really depends if you are willing to put the work into it, and since you already say you are not willing to put much time in to get a good grade, you should just probably ask for the refund…and do well on the other ones…
i am actually in a similar situation, i am in phsyics honors, and wanted to self-study the test…but now…i am afraid it is just a waste of the money, so i might cancel…i’m still debating too…:D

In my opinion, the only benefit you gain by taking the Physics B test is to have it on your college application. Physics C Mech and E&M are probably the only physics your going to need for mech engineering. So if the small boost to your application is worth it to you then do it, otherwise don’t.
