I'm an out-of-state-student that accidentially filled out Section's A, B and C under Application for Virginia In-State Educational Privileges... I accidentally saved it to my Common App so there's no way of getting rid of it!

I was able to erase all the WRITTEN information, like my name and email, etc. But the bubbled-in responses, such as: "Are you a US citizen?" "Are you a Virginia resident?" are selected. I have no idea how to deselect those!

Should I panic and have myself committed or just submit the application as it is, with Section's A, B and C empty except for some scattered bubble responses?????

If you answered “No” to the question on the first page about getting in-state tuition, no one is going to look at pages 3 and 4 of the supplement. No worries! :)

If DeanJ’s response doesn’t satisfy you, you can contact the common app people through the help section, and they will fix it for you. I had the same problem, except it was for an alternate college option that I selected by accident. Just explain your situation and they can deselect for you if you’re super worried (=

I hope my answer satisfies! It’s true…we set up our system to give the Office of Virginia Status the file if that question on the first page is answered affirmatively. If you aren’t seeking in-state tuition, your file bypasses their queues in the system. The admission deans don’t look at pages 3 and 4 of the supplement. :)

And if Dean J’s response still, for whatever reason, does not satisfy you, if you click “remove college” for UVa under “my colleges” on the CommonApp and then go back and re-add UVa to your colleges, it will give you a completely new, blank form
