<p>4.46 GPA (weighted) -- tied with one other for #1 out of 150 in class</p>

<p>AP:
4 Lit
5 USH

5 Chem (self study :))
5 Macroecon</p>

<p>AP scholar with distinction, 2007 </p>

<p>IB:

7 math methods SL</p>

<p>This year:
AP calc ab
IB english HL

<p>PSAT: 240, national merit (duh..lol)</p>

<p>EC/Volunteer:
Majorly emphasizing the research work in glycobiology that i have done for 4 years...sending in abstract and rec from research mentor
-I also volunteer around 8 hrs/week starting this summer at a cancer hospital
-I work at habitat for humanity starting this summer, 6hrs/week
-Science/math tutor during school year
-math league since 9th grade
-fed challenge team leader for 11th/12th grade years
-geography team captain next year/national finalist this year
-attended a 4 week long summer wilderness camp for 7 years
-newspaper writer for 11th/12th grades
-swimmer for both school and club team=our school division sucks, so i win a lot of stuff and go to sectionals by default haha.
helped coach middle school swim team-11/12
-lifeguard last summer</p>

<p>myyale essay emphasizes my love of scinece, while my common app essay shows a much different side of me and is a bit humorous but tasteful and good i hope.</p>

<p>so what do you think? how am i for yale?</p>

it's all up to those admissions officers.</p>

<p>How many students from your school were admitted in yale and other Ivies in previous years? That may give you some idea.</p>

<p>And most of the people who went to Yale previously were rowers, but the valedictorian last year got into princeton early and there were a good number of other ivies. </p>

<p>Even if I dont really have specific cause for concern, I just have a bad feeling about this year at Yale especially...</p>

<p>scores are great! self study chem (5) is awesome.
but remember scores are not everything. What you wrote and how you wrote it will probably be the deciding factor.</p>
