Freaking out waiting, chance me? Will chance back, I need to kill time anyways

I'm waiting on Penn CAS ED, and I desperately need some validation (or even rejection, just some opinion) so I don't lose my mind. Just chance for Penn ED right now

Objective:
SAT I superscore (breakdown M/CR/W/Essay): 770/800/780
SAT II (subject, score): Chem 750 Math 2 740 Lit 740
Unweighted/Weighted GPA: UW 3.8 / W 4.38 (weakest area, I've gotten a fair share of B's)
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): School doesn't rank. Top 15% for sure, pretty sure around 10th percentile
AP/IB (place score in parentheses): Calc AB - 5, WHAP - 4, Chem - 4, ELit - 4, Physics B - 4
Senior Year Course Load: Spanish 4 AP, and an English Honors class. Small note - due to an insane amount of extracurrics i have 12 grades on my transcript but only 7 classes, which is way more than usual for my grade.
Number of other ED applicants in your school: 5 including me, none stand out that much though.
Major Awards (USAMO, Intel, etc.): Some service awards
Common Awards (AP Scholar, honor roll, NM things, etc.): AP Scholar w/Distinction, National Merit Semifinalist

Extracurriculars (name, grade levels, leadership, description):
Job/Work Experience: None in the school year
Volunteer/Community Service: About 500 hours done so far (which I believe is the most in my year). Majority have been with this program for lower-income kids - since Junior year I have tutored or taught about 4 hours a week. Also helped with shelters, about 2 hours a week from frosh-2nd semester junior year. (I actually have about 650 hours done but I didn't enter a lot)
Summer Experience: After soph year, I was a graphic design/marketing intern at a startup.
After Junior Year - taught at same program for lower income kids. Paid small stipend. Very intensive program, about 8 weeks but the general clock in/clock out was from 7:30 AM - 6:30 PM. It's a pretty well recognized program.
Designed website, made strategies, etc.
Teacher Recommendation #1: English teacher, fantastic rec. He's known for writing great recs, and I TA for him - he knows me really well, we're very close
Teacher Recommendation #2: Calc Teacher, Great rec. Also known for writing good recs, and we're also pretty close.
Counselor Rec: Pretty Good
Additional Info/Rec: Very good, from employer I worked with over the summer. Factors well into my essay.
Interview: I thought it was pretty good - guy right out of Penn, but it might've been a little bit informal.

Other stuff
Speech and Debate, 4 years, various awards. VLD captain.
Link Crew, 2 years.
Leader of immersions at my school - I wrote about some of these in my commonapp.
Various clubs and stuff at my school, I just put down 2 that I'm the president/co-president of.

Writing (Subject, 1-10 rating, details):
Why Penn: 9.5. I did a lot of work for this essay, and everyone that read it really really liked it. Written about service - I'm applying to PPE with the intent of getting a law degree to do government work, it related pretty well.
CommonApp Essay: 8. It was alright. Lot of work put in, and certainly good - friends that read it said it was a 9 or 10, but it was not near the quality of my penn essay. So, 8.

Other:
Date Submitted App: 10/25
U.S. State/Territory or Country: California
School Type: Private
Ethnicity: Pakistani
Gender: Male
Income Bracket Range: Pretty high up there
Hooks (URM, first generation, recruited athelete, development): Uhhhhhhh

So if all y'all could just chance a brotha it'd be much appreciated

Low reach/high match. You definitely have a shot.

Chance me back please: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1589633-chance-me-low-act-superb-unique-ecs-will-chance-back.html#post16691928</a></p>

I agree with the above poster. That GPA does hurt a little, but you seem to have a really great SAT score and ECs to outweigh it. Best of luck man, I think your chances look great! Mind chancing me as well?: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1571030-chances-uva-notre-dame-northeastern-2.html</a></p>

Your background and qualifications sound a lot like my daughter"s who is also applying to UPenn - but regular decision… She’s not stressing, but I kind of am on her behalf. Her dream school has always been Stanford, and most of the schools she has applied for are reach schools- so only God knows where she"ll end up?! Two of her close friends with qualities very similar to her (& you) just got admitted, early decision to Duke – so that’s promising?!
I have to say as much as we wish it weren’t so, there is an element of random chance to it all. According to a friend who is a former IVY admission officer- kids with similar qualifications admission results are influenced by where in the stack their app ends up -literally, how they stack up! Basically, how one applicant measures-up to those other 30-50 that particular review session !
All that to say as human as it is to worry, don’t fret - ! You have done all you could do and then some … And there is no way a kid like you won’t get into a fantastic school… The rest is in Gods hands! Pray your app ends up in a pile with under-qualified applicants! Lol
Stay positive - and def. post your results
Good luck

Low reach; your GPA is a little low, but everything else is superb. Best of luck!

Great test scores

Low reach/high match.

Stay positive.

So I applied to UVA early action and was wondering if someone could chance me. Thanks!

In-State

SAT CR: 690
SAT Math: 680
SAT WR: 630
SAT II Math 2: 650
SAT II Physics: 670
ACT:31
Weighted GPA: 4.20
Class Rank: 1/149
I attend a Governor’s School for STEM.
I have taken the hardest courses offered by my school. Last year I took DE Physics through JMU. I also took APUSH and English 11AA. Senior Year I am currently taking AP Chem, AP Computer Science, AP Calculus BC, AP Lit and Comp, and AP Government and Chinese I + II.
I applied early action so unfortunately UVA will not see my grades on these courses. I also did not send my AP score for APUSH because two of the teachers were fired and it was a bad class so I got a 3. Will this hurt me?

I also think that my letters of recommendation were probably really good and my essays I think were decent.
Extra Curricular + Volunteer: I have done mission trips to Nicaragua for the past three years and work partly in interpreting. (No I’m not Hispanic I’m white.)
I am the Youth Philanthropy Council Representative for my school. I am heavily involved with church activities and youth group. Studied French last summer in Paris. I have taken a summer Chinese recreational course at UVA. I also occasionally tutor Latino Children after school. I am in National Honor Society and Math Honor Society and am a Jefferson Scholar Nominee.

What do you think my chances are for acceptance?? I really do not want to get deferred.
Thanks so much!

snowboarder dude, weird to be posting on chancing threads but being valedictorian is going to help you. EC’s are a tiny bit lacking but I still think that you have a good shot for UVa.

ccon66, thank you! I’m hoping I end up in a good stack for at least one school, but we’ll see how it goes. I’m praying too  and good luck to your daughter! I hope she gets into a school she’ll be happy with as well!

Thanks to everyone! Even if I don’t get into Penn, knowing that I could’ve had a good shot at it makes me feel a lot better.

Don’t be misled by the overall admissions rate, it’s heavily skewed by Wharton.

If you’re applying to CAS you have a pretty good chance of getting in.
