Freaking out yo

Hi, so I know a lot of people do this but I totally understand their stand point because I am also freaking out right about now! Therefore, I wanted you guys to see what my chances for the colleges I applied to

ACT: 30
GPA: 3.87W 4.95UW
Rank: 24/620
AP: Human Geography
IB: English (III,IV), Math (Math YR 1 (prcalc), Math YR 2 (calc)), Science (Chem I, Physics I, Chem II (HL)), Social Science (Economics I (SL), Psychology (SL)), Computer Science I, History (History of Americas, World Topics (HL)), and Latin (III,IV)
AP Score(s): US History 3
IB Score(s): Psychology 5
Major Awards: Academic Excellence (basically getting over a 3.5 gpa), Magna Cum Laude/Cum Laude for the National Latin Exam, Cum Laude for TSJCL
* Pentathlon, 1st Place for (Area C)*** Roman Life, CDC for DECA (3 yrs)
Extracurricular: DECA (Social Chair/Junior Rep/President), Key Club (Freshman Rep/Historian, Latin Club (Historian), NHS, BETA (Junior Rep/Vice President), Friends of Rachel, Orchestra (Philharmonic), Film Club
Projects: Promise Packs for Syrian Refugees (Partnered up with World Vision and raised $1100 to buy Promise Packs for Syrian refugee kids.), Women Empowerment (Partnering up with a local women shelter to create little kits for the women at the shelters.)
Work Experience: Nope
Volunteer: Well most of the clubs I joined were volunteer oriented and then the two projects were service projects.
Intended Major: Uh I kind of did based on the college because I was still unsure on what I want to do it.
NYU: Finance UCLA: Electrical Engineering Uni of Washington: Computer Science
State: Texas
Ethnicity: Asian (Female)
Gender: Female

All the colleges I applied to (the ones I want to know my chances for): University of Washington, UCLA, NYU

Reflection:
Scores = Weak
Essays = I had them reviewed, but I don’t know if they are really strong
EC = I think are pretty strong (idk)

Our school splits up History of Americas by focusing on history of americas (paper 3) and then world history (paper 1/2)
*
It is the state competition of Greek/Latin subjects
***District competition of Greek/Latin subjects

Be as blunt as you want, I just want an idea of my chances for these schools - thanks

I have done research on the University of Washington, and I think you have a good chance there. Your EC’s are strong, and your scores are not the best but still good, but maybe consider applying to a 4th school that’s a safety. I know there are a ton of top 60 schools whose RD deadlines are actually after January 1st.

Overall:
NYU - low reach
UCLA - reach
The University of Washington - fit school

Good luck!

You can make the University of Washington and probably NYU. (But always apply to a safety!)

Out of state for Computer Science at UW is a reach for everyone. You may be offered general admission, though.

Whether you want to pay out of state tuition when you don’t know if you are getting into your major is often a difficult decision for students and their parents.

UCLA: Reach
With a less than 10% acceptance rate for CS and over 100,000+ applicants for the overall campus, the competitition is fierce.

You need to be above the averages of UC GPA 4.33 and ACT of 32, to have a solid chance at an acceptance. Since you are Out of State (OOS) is UCLA affordable at $60K+/year to attend with little to no financial aid?

Thank you guys for your responses! I figured with my scores it would be kind of a reach for all three. I wanted to retake the ACT, but I didn’t have time so the only score I have is the first one I took. I have my SATs but they also suck, so yea I’m stuck with my ACT score. Also, dw I do have safety schools.

Also, another question is, do you guys think that they would consider me for my ALT majors:
NYU: Electrical Engineering
UCLA: Finance
UW: Finance

I agree with @Gumbymom answer about the CS major. However, even for finance, a lot of universities are also shifting to more quantitative skills, and for cs and engineering even more so – do you have a solid set of science/technical/math skills? This would greatly benefit your application in any of the fields that you are considering for primary and ALT majors: engineering, finance, cs.

Did you submit those AP and IB scores?
