Freaking Out

Okay, so I'm kind of freaking out about a little dilemma I'm having (and probably others out there, too). I took the December 2011 ACT, and I'm confident I did much, much better on it than I have on my last 2 takes. They said scores would be out for most on the 27th. I realize the most part, being within the unlucky minority.

I'm still marked as registered for it and the scores are released on Wednesdays and Fridays or something. Problem is this: Deadlines for all the schools I'm applying to are going to pass before next Wednesday. I already paid for my December ACT scores to be sent to the colleges I'm applying to (although I didn't do it on the test date, I did it after).
I'm freaking out as to whether or not colleges will get my scores on time or not. This has never happened to me before when taking the test.

Also, if they do come in time, will the colleges make note of it if it is my new highest score/has higher subscores (for the colleges that superscore)?

Gahhh! Why me! lol. Has anyone had prior experience in this type of dilemma?

/facepalm

I think you’ll be fine. You probably don’t need your SAT/ACT scores to be at the college by that particular date. A couple of weeks after the deadline should be fine. For instance, the deadline for GaTech’s application for me was Nov. 1st, but they accepted scores from the November SAT/ACT as part of the application, and scores for the November test didn’t come until the end of November and weren’t sent until then.
And if the colleges superscore, they should take into account the higher sub-scores.

If you’re still freaking out, just email the Admissions Office.

Thanks starchywinky!

Was hoping I would be able to just simply mark the highest scores down on the common app for some voodoo reasons. I think I’m going to go curl up in a ball somewhere, lol.

Oh gosh, I’m having the exact same problem as you are.
What I’m worried about is that since colleges won’t even look at someone’s app until everything has been sent in (transcript, scores, etc), then does that mean my app won’t be evaluated until February (the latest time for Dec ACT scores to come out)? -_- Plus it takes time for the scores to actually be sent to the colleges. And decisions are coming out early March for me…

I am so screwed… My status is registered as well.
