..Will the stupid freshman/sophomore grades kill my chances of getting into Cornell? I have really cool/unique ECs. That's why my grades sucked in the beginning....I played the piano too much!! ...:S

If I slide through senior year with A's (which I will), I'll still manage to have a 3.94/4.4 weighted GPA. I'll probably have all 5's on the AP Exams (except for Chem..it's damn hard) because I love the courses.

Do you still think I'll have a shot with a 35 ACT, all 5's and maybe one 3 or 4 on AP Exams, phenomenal essays, and a somehow still decent GPA? I mean..will the B's and one C really hurt me?

I'll be an English Lit major!

Please, just one response, idc...just someone tell me if I'll be all right or not!!!

Oh and SATII: Literature 770, Spanish 750, U.S History 720

Even as an english lit major the fact that you took the bare minimum of math should detract from your application.

I suck at math. I mean it’s not like I didn’t care or try to take honors math…

However, I forgot to mention that I did manage to get a 4 on the AP Calc Exam (self study) …which was surprising… So I’m not that terrible at it, I guess.

Bump**********

Humpty Bumpty sat on CC
Humpty Bumpty said “answer me”
Out of all the CCers and out of all of the threads
No one wants to answer my question

…lol sorry but I can’t think of a word to rhyme with thread that goes with what I have to say…lol but you get the point! Pleaseeee answer!

you have a solid chance it’s not a crazy huge deal! The 35 is obviously a good score, and I think the upward trend in your grades is important. Personally, I don’t think the math is a big deal because you’re not majoring in anything math-heavy. I’m not saying you’re a definite acceptance, but you’re not F’d.

Thanks Cyber! I actually just read that one person on here got into Cornell with “…like 4 C’s and even more B’s.” So I guess I’m fine! Thanks!
