I’m not much of a card sending person. My nephew graduated and I want to send him a graduation “card” virtually - partially because I don’t want to send a check through the mail, checks seem so antiquated and honestly the best way to get $$ to him is Venmo! So I want to send an e-card followed up with Venmo cash.
I don’t object to paying for an e-card, but figure there must be some “respectable” ecard sites still out there? YEARS ago I used Hallmark, Blue Mountain, etc. - but this is probably a one and done for me so I’m interested in a quick “make a card graphic, send it via text, Venmo the gift”.
Thank you for asking this @abasket - I didn’t realize it but this is exactly what I need for sending greetings to some folks who just relocated halfway around the world.
Check out American Greetings. They have some really funny/cheesy musical e-cards that can be personalized. My daughter was traveling on her birthday earlier this year, so I looked into e-cards and ended up sending 3 really funny ones throughout the day. With songs sung by Dolly Parton and Donny Osmond. They have more traditional/serious ones as well. And they have a 7-day free trial, so they were all free!
@abasket - Probably not what you are looking for - but I just go crazy with theme specific emojis and add a message directly with Venmo. There are a lot of options within Venmo to dress up the $ transfer
The $ amount and message is only private if the recipient’s acct is set to private - seems like a lot of people have them set up for everyone to see each transaction or if they let are set to let “friend’s see their feed”. I am old school and have my account private - but I see whenever my nephew and others get “beer money”
We subscribe to Jacque Lawson cards - probably been a subscriber for 10+ years - love Chudleigh the black lab! Our family & friends all enjoy getting them.
I ended up subscribing to Blue Mountain cards. The annual sub came to $2.50 a month and if I’m good about remembering to do that, I’ll make back the cost of cards plus postage easily. Once I figured out how to turn off my pop up blocker so that the interface was actually functional (and remembered to turn it back on!) it was an enjoyable experience.
