A lot of schools offer free flights or help pay for flights if you get accepted. West Point did that for my in May when I got into their summer program. Does Cornell this for Cornell days or multicultural open house day?

@casablancma : Wow… did you get a formal invitation???

Ukdad no I did not. I’m just asking if they do in case I am fortunate enough to get in ED

@casablancama - the other day when I was looking something up on Cornell’s site, I found a page that addressed your free flight question. I think it mentioned only reimbursing (or paying for) flights for students who live more than 300 miles from the school. If I can find the page again, I’ll post the link. I wish you the best of luck with your application!

Found it! http://diversityhosting.admissions.cornell.edu/travel.cfm#flying

Second thought - this is for RD students, which they are technically still recruiting after their offer of admission. By virtue of applying ED, I imagine you’re a lock in their minds, so something like this may not be offered. However, it’s definitely worth looking into if you’re accepted! For all we know, they may allow ED students to attend this as well.

according to google maps, i’m 290 miles away. so the 300-mile thing wouldn’t even apply to me if i were to get in :(

Well I’m a URM in California so I was hoping they would do that for a multicultural open house
