If anyone has a son or daughter planning to take the GRE's soon, I have one free copy of the ETS GRE Powerprep software. It arrived for my S in today's mail. It is supposed to be provided free with test registration. My son registered for the GRE's in the fall and took the test in October, and in true ETS fashion they just got around to mailing it. It is unopened and is the official software and includes "computer-based GRE General Tests, Sample analytical wiriting section responses and scoring information, math review and test tutorials." Send me a PM with your name and address and I will pop it in the mail to you. "First in time, first in right." :)

the software is also available free on the ets website:

ericatbucknell,
Thanks. This is version 3.1, CD-ROM for Windows. If this whole version is available for download, I guess I'll have no takers! I wasn't sure this was the same thing.

yeah, its the same thing.

in addition to test prep material the software also contains more detailed score-related data than i could find anywhere else on the ets website. there are bar graphs (showing both numbers and percentiles) for all major degree areas that can be sorted to include only intended masters or phd students.

MomOf3Sons:
...but it's the thought that counts, and it was nice of you to be so generous. May rose petals descend upon thy tribe.

^^^Thanks for the rose petals! Of course, if S who this was intended for was home and not out of the country, he would give me one of these. Perhaps I shall post on the Graduate School forum and see if there are any takers there.

thankfully our son will be enrolling in the Graduate School next fall but will not have to take the GRE. Take that ETS!!!!!!!!
