I’m trying to learn more about colleges other than the information that you can find on their websites. I heard about the Fiske Guide to Colleges on this website but I barely have any money so I don’t want to buy it. And if I buy it my mother will see it and start annoying me about it. That’s why whenever my mother asks me about colleges I have to pretend I don’t know anything about them and have no idea where I want to go. So are there any guides like the Fiske Guide that are online and/or free? I know they probably have them at the library but I can’t go there because I can’t drive and my parents are always working and I have siblings to take care of.
I’d recommend the Princeton Review website, it’s free if you create an account and is pretty similar to the Fiske Guide. Its better in some ways, it gives you more hard numbers than Fiske and doesn’t try to rank colleges as much. It’s a little harder to discover new schools without a big name through the website but overall its alright if you have some idea of what you’re looking for.
