Free Period Senior Year

I have an option of a free period senior year, but my school only offers 6 periods, so that would mean taking 5 periods. The only problem is I'm taking an on-campus college class senior year so that technically means 4 periods on my high school transcript for senior year.
My schedule would be
AP Stats
AP English Lit
AP environmental science
AP psychology
college class- political science

if i didn't take the free period, my 6th period would be an elective: buisness, art, or something of that sort.

I want to go to a UC, like UCSB or UCD, however my reach would be UCLA or UCB. If taking the free period hurts my admission chances, I would just go ahead and take an elective, but if it doesn't make a difference, then having the extra time would be nice. What should I do?

I wouldn’t worry, you have an impressive schedule thus far and a free period could be useful in getting work done and free your scheule up a bit…thats what I did and it really helped.

Take the free period. You have a pretty rigorous schedule; the down time is always good. Also, it’s your senior year, you’re allowed to have at least one period to yourself to do whatever you want. The valedictorian at my high school has a double lunch 3 times a week, and when someone asked her about it she pretty much said that he guidance counselor re-assured her it wouldn’t hurt her chances. This is the quiet before the storm aka college, enjoy a period to yourself!
