Free Period Senior Year?

I'm debating whether i should have one during my senior year. My school only has 6 periods per day.

I've signed up for
AP Government/Macroeconomic
AP Chemistry
AP Psychology
English
Pre-Calc.
Free Period. (I might just be a Teacher's Assistant...my counselor is going to kill me. I've changed my schedule twice already.)

So any thoughts?

same problem
i have a free period as a senior where i can just go home.

Especially since your school only has 6 periods a day, I would recommend taking a course instead.

Yeah, i e-mailed my counselor about the change. She will probably change my class. Thanks for the feedback~

You want to be a teachers assistant for your last class? I think you should take a real class otherwise just take 5 classes.

Being a T.A. is basically like a free period. I just have to grade papers occasionally.

I was going to take ASB initially but my counselor screwed things up for me. My alternative choice, computer graphic arts, was full. D:

Seniors at my school have 3-5 study halls :-0…I will have one and that is like unheard of. We have 9 periods btw.

Here’s my schedule
Ap Chem
Lab for Chem
Ap Envi sci
Lab for Envi/Physics lab
Honors Physics
Ap Calc
Ap literature
Ap Psych
Free period

will it look bad if i keep the free period?

I had student assistant my senior year and it helped a lot, giving me time to just do homework assignments due that day (had it 1st period) or run around trying to make sure my applications were good, send transcripts, fix attendance, get recommendations, etc. My friends were jealous. Just be sure to get a good teacher to assist. Really, if there’s nothing else you need or could take advanced than go for it. I wanted to take a dual-credit chemistry course so badly but it was only open 5th and it was impossible to schedule, otherwise there was nothing else, I’d taken as advanced as possible math, more than advanced offered sciences (except for that damn chemistry. which really isn’t the most advanced but I suck in general at chem and the credit transfers to UT which transfers to all colleges and I wouldn’t have to take Chem1, my only chem requirement, in the fall), taken all IB classes so yeah. I had 2 free periods actually, 1st and 8th so it was student assistant 1st and theater 2 8th.

I had a free period for one semester this year, but only because I was taking an already overloaded schedule of APs, and because I could only replace it with a semester-long elective I wouldn’t have liked.

No not really especially considering how many AP’s you have. I am only taking 5 classes next year at my school.
