Anybody do one of these? Worth spending a Saturday morning? Any idea how long it takes to get results back? I guess soon, or else they couldn't sell you any services!

definitely worth doing

i'm planning on doing it
and i'm not sure when results come! good question tho

I did one of these before my Junior year started. I got something horrible like a 1650 out of 2400. The test made me freak out, but when I took the SAT only a few months later I scored in the 2200s. I wouldn't go; in my opinion, it's just a moneymaking ploy.

Yeah, I'm thinking it will be really hard to scare you into thinking you need lots of prep. But they got another thing coming if they think they're going to get a dime out of me! I'm just looking at it as a good practice run one month before the real thing.

You could also buy real previous PSATs from store.collegeboard.com, and simply take them. Much cheaper ($3 each).

Yeah, it's worth doing because it's a proctored test so it helps you get used to taking it for real.

Fignewton, do the previous test for $3 come with the answer key? Thanks

^^^^ Apparently, you call for the answers and they'll e-mail them to you. Why they don't send them with is beyond me.

How much does everyone have to pay for the PSAT at their school? I understand private schools may not have to pay (my son did not) but my daughter is at the public high school and it will cost $26 cash to sign up.

Is that the rate everyone else is paying?

My son's school pays for it.

my school funded for it
i would say it's worth taking just for practice sake
but i do believe theyll make the test slightly harder to convince you that you need to take the class lol

@travelthrulife: you only get the test, no answers. Call or email store_help@collegeboard.com and they'll send you the answers.

I'm tempted to post the answers here, haven't had the time yet.
