Free press article on Michigan football breaking NCAA rules

It also is interesting that right as this comes out, an aritcle about MSU “following all the rules” comes out. Dantonio has everyone fooled. He got his RB out of jail early to start summer practice. This is after Winston, the RB, nearly beats a hockey player to death. That sounds more like winning at all costs to me. The president of the NCAA said less than a year ago that teams “shouldn’t practice more than 40 hours per week.” It’s an enexcusable misunderstading (actually it probably wasn’t misunderstood, Rosenberg has an agenda and hates Rich Rod) by the Freep.

I have never met a D-1 student athlete **in any sport **that didn’t say his/her sport was like having a full-time job.

Everyone goes to them. If you don’t, you won’t play. That’s not even 3 hours per day on average. I dislike people who don’t know what’s going on and totally trust any journalist/newspaper. Rosenberg just wants RR fired.

Did the Freep article mention any attempt to contact and discuss the allegations with either the coaching staff or the administration?

jrt 336, I think this is a big deal. Today’s report goes on to link RR with Clegg Lamar Greene, an accused felon and banned Clemson University booster. Are we going to continue to blame the Free Press? When will it stop being their fault? Can you also clarify for me how this has anything to do with MSU?

I’m wondering who does the background checks at the University of Michigan. We have a bad apple - starting with the $4MM payment, of which Michigan paid $2.5 to WVU - now the potential NCAA violations and a sheriff serving him notice of a real estate deal gone bad. Let’s own up to it -

For one there are no violations.

For two, if you had any comprehensive skills, and I’m assuming you went to Michigan here, you would realize that Rodriguez is listed as a VICTIM of a real estate ponzi scheme.

Flapm 08, I see, he’s actually a “victim”. You choose your business partners - you make financial deals. Why do I think you’ve never done a deal in your life? Wake up!

I know I’ll feel good talking about “RR, the Victim”. Now I feel better about everything!

Gee Benjo. Tell that to all of the victims of Bernie Madoff. I’m sure they’ll agree with you as well.

You are a victim if you enter into a deal and are taken advantage of much like Rich Rodriguez was in this situation. The only reason the lawsuit was filed against him was because he was determined to be the financial strength behind the investment. This is not a question of his character, he has done nothing wrong.

Benjo, you are a tool. I hope you don’t go to UM. I guess it means you’re a bad person when you get your money stolen. RR was a coach at Clemson before WVU. THere is a good chance he didn’t know this guy was a booster. And even if it did it doesn’t matter. Shut the **** up until you go read mgoblog or someone who knows what they’re talking about.

jrt336, why are you so committed to defending RR? Is RR more important than the University? I don’t think so. I thought the program and the school stood for quality of character - remember BO?

By the way - do you know what a personal guaranty is? It has nothing to do with a “Ponzi Scheme”. RR is a big boy - the composite of his character is not in keeping with the University. Based on your last response, I’m not sure yours is either.

I suggest we stick to the facts folks, and at the moment, none of us know the facts. It would be best to let the investigation take its course rather than allow gossip and opinion to prevail.

Benjo, I have no idea what a guaranty is. Bo loved RR. He often said this while talking to Don Nehlen. When Bo came to coach he wasn’t a “Michigan Man.” There was worse attrition under Bo than RR. You listen to the Freep and don’t read anything else that has a different viewpoint. Even OSU players and coaches are defending us. That’s how you know this is a huge joke. Don’t act like you know everything when you don’t know anything. Those of us that understand football and the whole situation (me) will win every argument against the fools like you. Again, do you even to to Michigan?

jrt336 - no I don’t “to to” Michigan. Do you “to to” Michigan? Please tell me you go to Mott Community College - your writing, and most importantly your logic is frightening. Try a book instead of your mgoblog site for a change of pace - you might be able to learn what a “personal guaranty” is used for in a financial transaction / real estate deal.

^^^Just a nasty self-serving comment Benjo.

Benjo, the “g” and the “t” are next to one another on the keyboard. It is called a typo. This is an informal forum, typos are perfectly acceptable.

jrt336, I think you are exactly right. And I believe now is the time, more than ever, for Michigan fans to stand united behind their coach. When this article came out in the Free Press, it was shocking, upsetting, and confusing; yet, as I watched Rodriguez’s press conference on Monday, I realized there was no doubt in my mind that he cares as much for his players as Lloyd Carr and Bo Schembechler ever did. Under Bo, half the team left. They couldn’t take the work or the pressure. But Bo turned those who stayed into champions, and we have to believe RichRod is going to do the same.

Read that moron

I will say, though, that given al that has happened in the last few weeks, the game tomorrow might be our most important opener ever. Ever.

True UMgoBlue. If these guys aren’t totally up for this game after what has happened to their coach, they never will be. I at least expect maximum effort, or I’m afraid Rich Rod will soon be gone.
