Free ride NYU Scholars or Cooper Union? P.S I am going for art.

someone help me decide~!!!!!

If I were you'd I'd take NYU in a heartbeat.

how do u become a free ride nyu scholar? tahts incredible...gimme info please

and id go with nyu

isn't Cooper Union free too?

it is but it does not include living expenses or supplies which would make it about 18,000 a year

for art, probably Cooper

cooper is amazing for art

id choose nyu because living expenses in new york to attend cooper will definetly be expensive. however i'd also choose cooper for art.

bump bump bump

ps by free ride you are talking about housing, etc paid for right?

But other than that, I think you know the answer deep down inside of you. You are probably scared of choosing the wrong school that will not enhance your resume, but both will. You can't go wrong with either school.

NYU. I've heard that Cooper Union is financially shaky. NYU has breadth- you can go in any direction. CU has three majors. Definitely NYU.

that doesnt make sense OneMom. Cooper Union is a FULLRIDE school. It is the only one in the nation. There is no such thing as a "financially shaky"

In my opinion, there is one very major problem with Copper Union. They do not have student housing after freshman year and it is very difficult and expensive to find housing in NY.

I meant that Cooper may not have the money to keep up the facilities, may have to start charging some tuition, or tack on additional fees. Sorry that wasn't clear. But it's a great school. Not that many people have a choice between it and a full ride at a place like NYU though.

well to be honest when i ws there yesturday a lot of rumers were cleared up, they have a lot of money and it is against their decreed to chanrge tuition, and also i was already admitted so even next year if they were to do that(which will not happen) i was already granted the scholarship and it is in contract with me matriculated at cooper. Also housing is really not expensive in those areas if you are renting and sharing a loft with four other people it is about 600 a month which is cheap and you can get a lot of space.

Go with your gut feeling, especially if the money for housing and supplies is not an issue. It seems as if your heart is tending toward Cooper. You must be good to have those two excellent options. If you can, visit both again and see how you feel. But, if you would have to take loans to pay for housing etc at Cooper, I would go to NYU.

bump bump bump

Im sorry, OneMom, but your concerns are completely unfounded. Cooper Union has CA$H, and lots of it. For one thing, they own the Chrysler building, as well as other Manhattan buildings. Short of a huge real estate depression, there is no chance they can run out of money.
