<p>I applied for the Toyota Community Scholars one. We hear in February whether we made it to semifinalist. I might make it to semifinalist, but I definitely will not be getting this award. The only reason I applied was that the application seemed so simple and straightforward.</p>

<p>My D applied for the Free Spirit Scholarship. The website says that only students selected will be notified. The date given is rather ambiguous - "no later than January 2006." So perhaps this month or next...</p>
