Well I got this too. And yes, I also applied RD for Washu's Engineering School.

Like several others, I also have seen WashU once already, but I still look forward to this. I guess I will be seeing all of you there. :P

Just wanna say hi and extend my congratulations to all of the talented people who were chosen. Also, if you weren't, sorry but I'm sure you'll get in. :D

I also got into this Dean's Honorary Scholarship thing. I'm not quite sure exactly how much do they give. Can anyone give me a few ballpark figures?

im studyin abroad in canada (korean)
my SAT's were not "great"
1420, 800,760,680, top of class, and some results from math and com. sci. nation-wide competitions

That's really cool chan........gives the rest of us internationals hope. Altho i live in australia, so getting a free trip is prob out of the question....as for me, I would settle for a simple acceptance letter....sigh

Constant,
I got the Dean's Honorary Scholarship as well, and I have heard that it starts at $2500. I also read on this board that it is based on financial aid as well, but I guess we won't find out until April.

Well if it sbased on Financial aid, i'm dead. :(

Lets hope its PURELY merit based.

I was watching CSPAN the other night, and I saw those democrats trying to make merit based scholarships into "financial aid" scholarships.

To me this is utterly ridiculous. :( But anyways, I will be there at WashU.

Foreign students should havea GREAT chance to get in. :) I'm sorta a foreigner, only became a citizen recently. :) Your SATs don't really matter at all, I mean, I got a 1600 (yes a perfect score... sigh) but I still got flat out DENIED to several schools ranked lower than WashU. :)

I think WashU is a great school in that it actually considers your situation before it decides. :)

hey dude,.. i got the free trip too, but mine is on april 14-17, which is a multicultural celebration weekend because i am chinese. but the fact is i am living really close to Washu., so i dont think i need the tickets. i got this invitation by express-mail. anyone got some thing like this??? btw, i was wondering if they will give out tickets to international students who live far far way~~~ (if they really do, no wonder the tuition increased enormously)

olin~~~yeah.. i think most of the students got in have invitations, but they are on different date, so that schools can handle the arrangement.
anyone got the "multicultural celebration weekend" thing?

i'm chinese, but i have an invitiation to go the 9th -11th :-

maybe multicultural celebration weekend is only for the local students? really weird, and probably not right, but so far 2/2 are st louis people...

whaddaup!~~ haha.. when i say i am chinese i really mean "authentic chinese" as a citizen of china(i came here 6 months ago). perhaps that's why?

ariesdrgn, are u american-chinese?

darkhelmet, are u citizen of US?

i am not sure if i will go yet, since on April 17 i will probably have classes in school. btw, i am from parkway central high..

nice to meet u ppl tho.....are u ppl all EDers ? or RDers?
