Free tuition for Tulane, Dillard, and Xavier students

Brown will admit RI residents who are students at Tulane, Dillard, and Xavier as “special students” for a semester with free tuition, while their school and cities in LA are rebuilt

dcircle obviously wants to be a reporter.

the cat's out of the bag

I think I might be joining y'all in Brown. My girlfriend and I are getting an off-campus apartment for the semester if Brown let's us in.

What's the deal with letting us in, though, do we need to "academically qualify" or is it simply I fill out the application (which I did) and send it in, they contact me, and I register for classes? I don't know if anyone knows, but any help would be appreciated.

here's the info for students who want to apply. it includes the app and a faq
(there's no mention of academic qualifications)

I'm going down to the school tomorrow to speak with admissions. It says Rhode Island residents only, but I'm the first town over the Massachusetts border, so I could commute if need be.
Plus, if I get an apartment, then "technically" I'm a Rhode Island resident, right?

lol, no. I think it means current residents, not once we admit you residents. But I think out of staters can apply.

By the way, I just transfered to Brown from Tulane. I'm Rachel McKenna...do I know you? OR do you know me...bum bum

No ma'am, I'm a freshman, I assume by your age, you'd be a sophomore?
Are you at Brown for good or did you "transfer" for the semester?

Hey ecliptica was your girlfriend ever considering Berkeley for the term? If so I think I know her!!!

I'm a transfer for good. I just have good timing...I get that question a lot.

And hey, what about Loyola students?

Simmons said the University will now be able to do far more than it had originally planned, such as providing assistance with housing, meals and books for students with demonstrated financial need, and supporting a variety of other activities to enhance Brown’s assistance program.
