is it a separate building from unit1 or just a separate hall? are people there usually the quiet/reserved/non-party type?

It's one of the high rise buildings, identical to 3 others buildings in Unit 1, all but identical to four other in Unit 2. Some of these people are very social, and I'd say there is a higher percentage of religious people there, and some of them are quiet, but many quiet people live in the other buildings, too. I don't think that Freeborn has a monopoly on quiet types, or that Foothill does, either.

basically it's 1/4 of unit 1? do you know anybody who lives there?

1/6, really, but 1/4 high rises. I know a few people who live there, and a few who frequent there because of friends.

do you know if freeborn hall is not as popular so more ppl who request it get in? i'm asking because i really want a unit1 double and i don't mind not being able to party because i can always go somewhere else.

I am not sure. I imagine so, as I've read and hear that some (a small, small group) who live there did not request it.

I talked to a housing peron on Cal Day and she said that the substance free halls are very popular and requested frequently. I was thinking along the same lines - ask for freeborn and maybe I will get a double.

However, since triples are $2000 cheaper and I get no aid - I may choose a Unit 1 triple. Just hope I get two great roommates...

freeborn is not really "popular." i would just list it as your 5th choice as a last resort.

Well, it had the longest line of returners at the room draw tonight in Unit 1. ** Don't put Freeborn down if you don't want to abide by their rules.**

I put it Freeborn Double and Freeborn Triple as my top two choices last year. I got Bowles.

Then I heard that a lot of people who didn't request it got put in.

Weird.

I agree, they have some weird system (because stuff like that sometimes happens).
