french ap anyone?

ahh good thing we got that cleared up cornerstones!

i just went thru a ****load of speaking and fill inthe blanks with apcentral.
i listened to some samples of ppl who got a 3 for a speaking question... and i feel like.... i have a chance!!

is there a big curve for the french AP like there is for the french sat II?

Je vous en prie, cornerstones et cookiemonster ;)

I'm not sure if there's a curve. Check out a scoring index or something.

Bonne chance!! :)

See? I'm definitely going to "echouer."

i have yet to find a scoring index! X_X

I think I'm going to fail as well.

I have never heard anyone use the word "pedant" before, so I was curious as to what it meant... if that is what you are referring to, I mean.

welcome to the echouer club, emmared.
hey with this much people thinking that they'll echouer,,, there should be a big curve... :)..

Oui!

penser a = to think of someone. ex: je pense a ma mere.

not sure of penser de. i think it's to think of doing something. but dont quote me on it.

Haha, perhaps our 1s can become 5s because of the awesome curve. BTW, I asked you a question above your last post. :D

I had the same problem! I looked it up and got:

[QUOTE=about.com]
Penser

I think so too...but it's just stuff like that that annoy me to no end. Well, all of those prepositions after verbs. I didn't know such things existed until a couple of days ago till I got to the "Verbs" section of the Barron's Review Book. I memorized most of those...then realized the rules change for when you don't have a verb following a verb but rather a noun.

Anyway, merci beaucoup, you guys! :)

Does anyone have some good french review links?

Merci my fellow failers! :)

emmared - i meant pendant. excusez-moi! :p

um... j'utilise apcentral.com for practice questions.

but about.com is actually good for grammar stuff.
so i gues i could look up pendant/depuis on my own. :)

Je vous souhaite tous de bonne chance.

Moi je n'ai pas de peur parce que je sais que l'examen n'est pas tr

Pendant et Depuis=
pendant = during
depuis = since

Depuis could ALSO mean "for". <- I have not spoken to you for/in five years.

Pour = for...
Il y a = there is/ there are

I know this sounds jumbled... I'm sorry!! :(

thanks emmared

wow APDoolittle, looks like ur gona ace the exam!

oui, a bientot! nous devons parler apres l'examen!

I used to be confident about getting au moins a three, but as the test approaches, I don't think that even a 2 is feasible. I can't conjugate!!

I already placed into Advanced Intermediate french (203) for next year though, so I guess it shouldn't impact much. This won't be a very good way for me to end high school. :(

if i dont get a 4, my college wont give me any credit.
if i get a 3, im competent for placement or soemthing (whatever that means) but i wont get any credit.
thus my goal = 4.
reality = 2.

Same! I don't get any credit without getting a 4 or a 5, but there's a placement test and if you pass that you automatically skip certain classes.

Pendant=passe
J'ai fait quelquechose pendant deux mois.
Actually, i just looked it up, and pendant can be used for the future also

Pour=futur

tandis que and pendant que are interchangeable, i believe.. :)
