Are French classes at Tufts very difficult?
How's the workload in elementary French classes such as French 1?
Is it possible to study abroad in France in your junior year if you start French as a new language?

thanks!

I was wondering the same thing!

I started Spanish 1 here as a freshman while taking French 22. I didn’t find the French classes generally to be very difficult.
If elementary French is about as challenging as elementary Spanish, the workload is easily manageable. Attendance policy is really strict, though.
The Tufts-in-Paris program requires six semesters of French, meaning you would have to take a summer course in order to attend. However, there are many non-Tufts programs from which Tufts accepts credit that do not require as much language experience. I went to Madrid with only four semesters of Spanish.
