french ii vs study hall...?

hey so im trying to figure out my schedule next year and i cant decide between taking french ii or having a study hall.
i will be in AP spanish next year just fyi, and the reason im debating it is because I probably will be taking an advanced math class (linear algebra i think) at a university nearby. so i didn't want to put too much on my plate for my first semester senior year.

do you think I would be able to manage to take both french two and this math class? or should i just stick to the math class?

thanks

motivated

Do you like French and/or ever plan on doing anything with it in college?

I’ve never actually taken french, so i wouldn’t know. but i was considering taking it because it would be fun to learn another language.

I am not sure why you would skip French I? Or am I mistaken?

^ I agree with mono. Either take French I or study hall. I suggest French I.

Well, if you’re self-studying ap exams next year, study hall would be useful. Otherwise, take French I since you’re interested.

Do you have another language?

oh i should’ve mentioned.
school doesn’t offer french i for high school. So i’ll be studying it over the summer with a teacher.

Take study hall, if you’re already in AP Spanish why do you need a language that isn’t even highly spoken here? I made that mistake of taking french… :</p>

I gotta agree with Matt. Unless you plan on doing work in France or Africa, French is kind of a useless language (don’t kill me).

BUT I still think it is better to take a language than a study hall. Could study hall be turned into to some sort of Independent Study?

Why is study hall bad? Will taking a break for a period affect you that much?

^ It depends. If the OP is shooting for an Ivy/Top public/top LAC then yes it will because he/she will be competing with people with “complete” (ie- all core/academic classes) schedules.

If he/she is shooting for less than that, then the study hall will be fine :).

What if I get all A’s with a study hall? Does that look better than say 2 B’s without a study hall or still worse? How do you determine what colleges don’t notice or care about the study hall.
