French...Italian....Spanish...oh boy

Well, today was a fun day for me. I went to my school's French conversation meeting, which was fun and I met a guy there who also goes to the Spanish conversation meeting. I have't taken Spanish since high school and I have basically no vocabulary, but I was shocked at how much I understood when I eased into the Span meeting. I could also respond in Spanish, though a bit clumsy. I am so in love with these languages I just don't know what to do! I am seriously thinking of brushing up on my Spanish this term, retaking the placement test next term and possibly taking all three language courses....the only problem is that I have to fulfill other reqs. I would love to place out of elementary and start intermediate Spanish.

I really want to know all three of these languages well. I really do. I know will go to the French, Italian, AND Spanish conversation meetings every week and I want to try and brush up on the Spanish Grammar too.

Anyone have any reccomendations for books on Spanish Grammar?

I think I will buy the Bescherelle Spanish series (in French) because they are really clear and thorough.

I welcome other suggestions too.

Also, is it possible to get a translation degree that focuses in all three languages??

I'm thinking 3 languages is going to entirely eat away any possible electives. And going to those conversations is going to be great for you, because you can know all the grammar in the world, but you're not fluent until you can speak without having to reference to the grammar

Why don't you pick one language to explore in depth and audit the other two? Acquiring that many languages is learning skills, not studying in the sense that you study history or chemistry. It is a great opportunity to learn to speak these languages, but I wouldn't use up course time to do so.

Some schools have a three language major where you take like 12-18 credits of each language(above the intro level) and then obviously all the other gen ed stuff. Search it out
