Lol, I know this is like completely off the track from college admissions...but which language should I learn over the summer? French or Spanish? Both are great languages, international and world wide accepted, sounds sexy, but which is better? In terms of similarity to the english language, popularity around the world? Thanks for the help!

Gerbils!!!!!!!!!

I would pick Spanish without a doubt. A lot more people speek it. French used to be used widely in diplomatic circles and other global activities but its popularity is falling and English has prety much taken over.

French. Aside from Mafalda, how many good comics/graphic novels are written in Spanish ;)?

....tough question...but stil mafalda is so good that its equivalent to 100000 comics, yeah...so spanish.....I'm so biased, my native language is spanish haha

Spanish, of course. Although both are two of the 6 UN languages, and may be similar with English with regards to grammar and the presence of masculine/feminine nouns, Spanish is so much easier to speak and listen to (without the nasal accents), and is more widely-spoken than French.

O COME mon! Learn French with me. :)

ok, 3 supporters of Spanish and 2 for French. Lol, but like, is spanish easier to learn since it's more similar to English?

No idea if it's more similar but if you live in the USA you would definatly hear ir more.

Gerbils!!!!!!

What the...

French!!!!!!

Hahaha...I guess I'm going for Spanish, although I personally prefer French..

Spanish dude!!! More Fortune 500 CEOs speak Spanish than any other foreign language.

I'll go for french, since I'm taking french right now. I think its a pretty easy language

In fact, learning Spanish is more expensive than learning French

French. ce le langue de l'amour!! right?? choose french

anyone here learning Chinese? That would be challenging!

hey! im nicaraguan and i speak spanish (learning french) but if you prefer french dont you think you should go with your gut!! hehe....and yes i think chinese is practicly a must right now...im personally considering mandarin after i finish french

stuck-on-1700: Omg. Shush. XD It's "C'est la langue d'amour"

Futuristic: I don't take chinese but I may sit for the AP just to show colleges I know it..it's not my first language though but for foreigners it IS challenging, I have to say.

Personally I take French because it's more related to classical literature and I love literature. :) I'll be doing my AP next year..^_^
