Hey, everyone.
First of all, congrats to all the newly admitted students! :D

I am a European Studies major who wants to study both French and Spanish at UCLA. Ive taken French for four years at HS and my AP French class really sucked and I know I did not get a 4 or 5 on the AP test and am lucky to get a 3. plus, I felt the test was kind of difficult.

So I have a question...how hard are the placement exams at UCLA? I just want to get into French 3 or 4. Also, is it possible to learn two languages at UCLA? if I do well on this exam, I can definitely speed up the process of learning two languages.

Please tell me how the exam is like!

bohemiandaisy,

My daughter is an incoming Freshmen and she’s looking at a dual in French and Fine Art. She’s thinking about taking Summer Session Abroad for French for two summers to help with the additional load.

[French Language and Culture / Business French - OVERVIEW](http://www.ieo.ucla.edu/TravelStudy/French-Paris/overview.htm)

First Summer would knock out French 4, 5, and 14
Second Summer would be French 100, 107, and 130

We’ll know next month how she did on the AP test but she thinks it will be 4 or 5 which obviously would help.

Two more summers in Paris and she gets closer to her goal. That kid has a tough life! :)

Food for thought?
Best,
