hey guys,

I was looking for a good prep book for the sat II french test and I'm kinda confused now. I looked up a couple of barrons and PR books on amazon, but it seems they all received VERY BAD reviews. Btw, I'm gonna take the test with listening, so does anyone kno a good prep book for that?

I heard some rumors saying that the Language tests r simplely about some flyers, messages etc.
I am not quite sure about it

I would love to know. I just bought a discounted PR book, which I started looking through. I hope that will be enough...

Normally I would get the Barron's book like I did for Math IIC, so I could be over-prepared, but I heard that for French, it does NOT over-prepare you. So I'm completely confused :(

Well, I took the SAT French w/ Listening last year, and I got 800. I just used Barron's and PR...I know Barron's gets a bad Amazon review, but I found that its practice tests were slightly more difficult than PR's. I'd say get both books because the more practice tests you take the better! Also, I think it's helpful to work from a grammar exercise book, and make sure you've studies vocab...I really think the best thing is just to try to read French material, like newspapers, all that - it'll definitely boost your confidence.

Thanks for the help. How many practice tests does the Barron's book have? I was quite disappointed to see that PR only had two...

And nice job on your 800 :)

um... i dont know... the reviews sounded very harsh... so, how about the princeton one? is that any good?

I've done a ton of their practice exercises, and so far I haven't missed a single question. So I don't know if that means the book is way too easy, or not...

hm... at least on amazon, they say that both PR and Barrons r bad for french

I wish Sparknotes had a French book...
