I am applying to Harvard and I heard from a representative that an SAT II subject are mostly looked at for placement. Anything above a 600 will give u credit apparently. I recently took the SAT II subject test for French and was hoping to crack a 700.. I was pretty sure I did, but it turned out that i scored a 670. Should I retake or is a 670 decent enough?

no, cos the french II is very hard, and adcoms kno that... btw... I happen to kno someone who also got a 670 in french and got accepted to harvard... funny coincidence, ^^

hmm, it all depends how you look at it...I took it without studying at all just reviewed my grammar. I ended up with a 750 in french and 800 in spanish. I figured that for tests like these (language exams), your score will depend on how lucky you are that they test the random vocab that you know. The grammar part you just need to know. That's how I reason it. You might want to try again to see if you get lucky, but also keep in mind that your score might go down.

Do you reckon French & Listening is in fact easier than French Reading on its own? Because surely the Reading part will be shorter?

don't do that to yourself unless of course, you're amazing at listening..

how many years of french did you guys take before you took the subject test?
