French SAT2!

Jazzy J- ta phrase manque de clairet

ooooh desolee!

Je vais clarifier. J'ai dit si il y ont des problemes au sujet des "idioms"

sorry just trying to practice some french! :D

OKay well first of all-

it's "il y a" and not "il y ont"...it's il y a even when you want to say "there are" and "des phrases idiomatiques" is fine...

Ne t'inqui

...Not to be picky but it should be ton fran

Is mal the adverb and mauvais the adjective?

Hi, can any of you answer a question?:) If I take both French and French with Listening and do better on French without listening and decide to send that score to colleges does College Board STILL send the French with Listening score to the colleges? Or does it treat them both as seperate subjects? oh and btw, chillaxin mal is the adverb and mauvais is the adjective :)

Thanks. =] And CB sends all of your scores to colleges. Yes, the two are different subjects. French with Listening is only available on the November test and is good if you want to get placement for college foreign language courses (you can use your AP score too).

DUDE. je suis SCREWED pour l'examen.

I heard that a LOT of test-takers (for the language tests) are native speakers of that language or at least grow up in an enviroment where that language is commonly spoken. I'm living in Japan so most of my classmates are going to take the SATII Japanese and score 800s for sure.

This is my 3rd year for french and in our school, the FrenchIII (the 3rd year) is considered AP French. So that means that we have to take the SATII French and AP French tests this year. If I'm up against people who've spoken French their whole life, the curve is going to kill.

Like I said before, I'm soooo screwed. Any words of sympathy or advice? :D

What can I say? I'm in a similar situation. I live in Poland and too bad there is no SAT II Polish!;) I've been learning French at school, only visited France once, for a week! Now I'm starting to think whether I actually KNOW what I'm up against ;) I just hope that cela suffit! J'espere reussir a cet examen;)Bonne chance! :D

well if it helps any.. Je suis screewweedd aussi
more so then u.. I have an IB french exam next month :(

no one has answered my question yet!!...ok thanx for picking out the nitpicky mistakes in my sentence...but once again, i'll say it in english this time: do they have sentences with many french idioms??

There are some french idioms, but not too many. Just like basic ones that you should have learned in your French classes. Mostly what you need to know is a lot of vocabulary (very important!) and grammar. Be able to understand reading comprehension passages to the best of your ability, even if you don't know all the words. I'm in AP French 4 right now and I used Barrons and REA to prepare and I ended up getting a 790. Good luck!

Merci pour la clarification~

oh yah also, do u have to bring a CD player..or cassette tape player?...it was cassette player last yr..but im not sure about this year?

According to collegeboard.com we are supposed to bring a CD player.

Daccord...c'est bizarre parce que l'annee dernier j'ai apporte un cassette-player...mais je pense que c'est differente cette annee.

Are Barron's Listening tests comparable to the real thing? What's the curve? How many mistakes can I make to still obtain something between 750 and 800? Is that very hard?

alorssss for those who took it today, how did u think u did?

about how many qs can u miss and still get over 700?

The reading part was not that bad, was it? I didn't like listening part A. Now I know that the listening tests in Barron's book were a lot easier than the real thing:) (the reading part on the contrary)

i agree 100% i had the hardest time with the listening section...and isnt that section supposed to be the easiest too?

the vocab and reading parts were ok tho...

so how many Qs can u miss and still get 700+?...
