Hi. I’m from an English speaking country but I study French at school and would like to become fluent in it. So I’m thinking of going to a French university in Canada and I need some suggestions. Requirements include a flexible bachelor of commerce degree program, co-op option, housing, meal plan, good scholarship opportunities and fitness opportunities.
In order to succeed at a French university in Canada you would need to be pretty much fluent in French when you enter. You might consider University of Ottawa which is a bilingual university.
Thanks, I’ve heard about that one. Are there any other reputable bilingual universities? Or French ones with an immersion program?
The only other bilingual university in Canada is Laurentian University/Université Laurentienne in remote Sudbury, Ontario. Not recommended. L’Université du Québec á Chicoutimi offers a non-credit immersion French program in a totally French environment.
Oh ok, I’ll check out that one. But why don’t you recommend Laurentian University?
Sudbury, Ontario is a remote rust belt city. Most students come from Northern Ontario.
Oh I see
I think you would need some proof in your French ability in order to apply for a French speaking university in Canada(e.g. Université Laval or Université de Montréal)
What’s wrong w study abroad one semester?
